Getting your heart broken, can probably be one of the most painful experiences you’d ever have to go through. From crying in bed, to not wanting to get out of bed altogether, we’d be lying if we didn’t say that we’ve all been there at one point or another.
Having a romantic relationship, we really wanted to work come to an end seems like an impossible time, and it is in times like those that we seek solace from music. In fact, we believe it is a vital small step to the long process of healing.
Because of that, we have gathered some of the best moving-on-songs you should listen to if you’re trying to get over someone.
In no particular order, here they are:

1. Best Thing I Never Had by Beyonce (2011)

So, it didn’t work out, but just like what Queen B said, it probably could have been the best thing that has ever happened to you!

2. Thank u, Next by Ariana Grande (2018)

A song from dating one person to the next when things don’t work out, remember that when someone leaves, let them, because the next one could just be right around the corner.
 

3.  Let It Go by James Bay (2015)

Featured on the American TV series Supergirl, this song is basically about its title: to just let the person and all the hurt go.
 

4. Irreplaceable by Beyonce (2006)

Another big hit by Beyonce, this song is about showing the person that left you just how valuable you are and how they are the ones that lost you.
 

5. Let Her Go by Passenger (2012)

Very much like let it go, this song is also about letting the person go. After all, you can’t keep someone that doesn’t want to stay.
 

6. Since You Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson (2004)

Talking about moving on, this song by Kelly Clarkson includes lyrics about being able to breathe for the first time, ever since the person left.
 

7. Cups by Anna Kendrick (2012)

First performed on the top movie Pitch Perfect, this song hits just right, talking about how the person that left would miss you once you’re gone.
 

8. Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) by Kelly Clarkson (2011)

Saying it all in the title, this song is Kelly Clarkson again, telling you that you’re stronger than you think, because what doesn’t kill you, it certainly makes you stronger.
 

9. Shake It Off by Mariah Carey (2006)

Often being compared to Usher’s ‘Confessions’, this RnB song tells us that whatever happens, we should just shake it off and come out stronger on the other side.
 

10. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift (2012)

Coming in as a warning to an ex, this song was solely created so that you could tell your ex that ‘we are never ever getting back together’, whenever they come crawling back.
 

11. Apologize by Timbaland ft. One Republic (2007)

Using the famous line, it’s too late to say sorry, this heartbreaking anthem is when it’s too much and too late to fix what the other person broke.
 

12. Chainsaw by Nick Jonas (2016)

Getting rid of things that remind you of them can be a very effective step in moving on, and that is exactly what Nick Jonas talks about in this song.
 

13. Love Yourself by Justin Bieber (2015)

A nicer way of saying f*ck yourself, this Justin Bieber hit talks about all the bad experiences the singer faced with an ex, and how the person just doesn’t matter anymore.
 

14. Take a Bow by Rihanna (2008)

A fan favourite, this song about cheating has been literally played a thousand times over. Whether its from an actual experience or a pretend one, it definitely hits all em’ feels!
 

15. Without Me by Halsey (2018)

A song about making sure you don’t let people take advantage of you, this Halsey original quickly rose on charts when it was first released.
 

16. Part of Me by Katy Perry (2012)

Talking about being strong and not being broken no matter what, this Katy Perry song had girls everywhere preaching it, when it came out.
 

17. No Tears Left to Cry by Ariana Grande (2018)

A very sad but uplifting title, this song is the epitome of what moving on and growing from past experiences would look like.
 

18. Survivor by Destiny's Child (2001)

Before Beyonce, there was Destiny’s Child and with it, this magnificent song about persevering, despite everything that’s pulling you down.
 

19. F*ck You by Ceelo Green (2010)

A very straight-to-the-point kind of title, this anger-filled song’s radio-edit version was actually called “Forget You”.
 

20. Better in Time by Leona Lewis (2007)

With heart wrenching lyrics, this song by Leona Lewis expresses the pain someone goes through, and how despite it, everything will eventually be alright.
 

21. Silver Lining by Rilo Kiley (2007)

Silver Lining is about discovering how you may have been the silver lining to someone in the past, but without them, you’re now gold instead.
 

22. So Yesterday by Hilary Duff (2017)

Coming straight out as talking to an ex, this song by Lizzie McGuire star, Hilary Duff says that despite the heartbreak you will be okay and tomorrow things would begin to seem so yesterday.
 

23. Shout Out to My Ex by Little Mix (2017)

Another song about talking to an ex, Shout Out to My Ex is about telling an ex that since they left, you have become a better and happier person.
 

24. Miss Movin' On by Fifth Harmony (2013)

The perfect song to describe moving on from an ex, this Fifth Harmony hit was performed on shows like The Today Show, Fox & Friends and Live! With Kelly and Michael.
 

25. Stronger by Britney's Spears (2000)

Moving on is taking steps forward, and this song by Britney Spears talks about finding that new found strength with each new day.
 

26. Bye Bye Bye by N'Sync (2000)

Finally, ending our list is an all-time famous by N’Sync. With savage lyrics, this song is a good riddance hymn to someone you just want to say goodbye to.
