When we listen to a just-released single, EP or even a whole album, we often wonder what the music videos to those songs would look like. Then, those get released and before you know it, YouTube’s blowing up.
Sometimes though, we get music videos that do NOT match their songs at all, and then we’re confused as ever.
We thought it’d be fun to watch a few, so we gathered 6 top songs we could find, which we felt totally missed the ballpark with their MVs and in no specific order, here they are!

#1 I Don’t Care by Ed Sheeran ft. Justin Bieber

With a lot of animation, theatrics and magical realism, this music video is certainly not what we expected in a song, which lyrics is about spending time and just being with a significant other. But alas, it was entertaining!

#2 Don’t Wanna Know by Maroon 5

Wearing different costumes, this song about very real feelings for an ex, had a very playful music video indeed. We didn’t think that this, was what the music video would look like with those heartbreaking lyrics, but we did enjoy all 6 minutes of its imaginative fun!

#3 IDGAF by Dua Lipa

A song about being angry and done with an ex that’s trying to come back, we expected some furniture-throwing and moving-on scenes for this one. However, we were surprised to see two identical group of girls in matching pantsuits, doing some very in-sync dancing.

#4 Sorry by Justin Bieber

“Is it too late now to say sorry? Coz I’m, missing more than just your body. Is it too late now to say sorry? Yeah, I know that I let you down, is it too late to say I’m sorry now”. So you’d think it’d be about Justin apologizing to someone in the video, but it is a bunch of girls showing off some bomb dance moves instead.

#5 Dusk till Dawn by Zayn Malik ft. Sia

Another love song, the music video for this, is basically watching an action movie, instead of a typical love story. It had very cool shots and an interesting story line, but definitely not what we had in mind when we first listened to those lyrics.

#6 Wolves by Selena Gomez ft. Marshmello

With rather seductive lyrics and singing, this song about trying to reach someone, running like a wolf, had us surprised with a not-at-all-expected music video. Instead, it encompassed the pop singer herself, walking, sitting, crawling, standing and lying down, in what appeared to be different areas of a high school.
There it is, all great songs by even greater singers, just with music videos that we feel, didn’t quite add up.
