Upon releasing her Billboard 200 album Rare earlier this year, the ‘Lose You to Love Me’ singer has since spent her Covid-19-global-pandemic-quarantine months, very much like the rest of us common people.
From re-watching some good old shows, to following YouTube workout videos, to taking guitar lessons, and apparently settling into a new home, Selena Gomez has been doing pretty much what many of us have been doing while being stuck indoors.
But the question isn’t what we know, it’s what we don’t? THIS: The pop star’s new quarantined home cooking show on HBO Max called Selena + Chef!
The unscripted show which usually isn’t the singer’s forte, was an idea that she had been toying with since May this year. Thanking our lucky stars, things worked out as planned and the show’s trailer was just released yesterday.
Selena + Chef is a cooking show whereby the pop star is seen making new dishes in her very own kitchen, but with cameras and 10 selected great master chefs, each for one episode of the series.
Putting forth social distancing, Angelo Sosa, Antonia Lofaso, Candice Kumai, Daniel Holzman, Jon & Vinny, Ludo Lefebvre, Nancy Silverton, Nyesha Arrington, Roy Choi, and Tanya Holland, will be guiding Selena remotely, as she prepares the perfect omelet, spicy miso ramen, Korean breakfast tacos, seafood tostada, Hawaiian donuts, matcha chocolate chip cookies, tomato bruschetta and a cheese soufflé.
Although her official taste testers would be her friends and grandparents, these chefs would monitor her cooking abilities while she attempts various dishes throughout the season. Tapping into her longtime dream/alternate career path of becoming a chef, each episode would also highlight different food-related charities.
The show has been announced for an official release in a week’s time on August 13th, 2020 via HBO Max.
